All hair types can have locs, howeverthe level of care and maintenance may vary depending on hair type.
Straight (Type 1)

If you work out regularly or use a lot of products on the hair, then it should be washed more regularly but if not then you will probably get away without washing for longer. Apple Cider vinegar is great for rinsing the hair after washing to remove any residue and build up from the scalp. Mix with water and rinse the hair after shampooing. The scalp should not be oiled, the scalp generally produces its own moisture and you do not want to block the hair follicles. Allow the scalp to breath and leave it alone!
